Petition to amend Louisiana liability protection law!

 As you may very well know, Louisiana 4x4 is currently leading a petition drive across the state to show our support for an important amendment that will be presented to the Louisiana Legislature in March, 2004.  As the current law states, off-road event sponsors as well as private land owners are protected from liability lawsuits associated with events they organize or hold on their private property.  Unfortunately, this protection only includes vehicles weighing less than 1,500 lbs.  This weight limit effectively excludes nearly 100,000 off-road enthusiasts who drive Jeeps, SUVs and trucks. 

 This petition allows individuals across Louisiana and surrounding states to show their support for an amendment which will seek to eliminate the weight limit restriction, thus allowing groups and organizations to resume off-road events within Louisiana.  The potential economic impact on the state is significant as Louisiana residents are currently required to travel out of state for off-road events. 

 Below you will find a variety of methods to show your support for this amendment.  WE CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!  The more signatures we are able to gather in support of this amendment, the more likely it will pass.  Based upon your state of residence, we ask that you follow the instructions below to assist us in this worthwhile fight.  However….don’t stop at doing this just for yourself!  If you have friends, family, co-workers or ANYONE who is willing to show their support for this amendment, we are asking that you pass this petition along.  Whether you print the petition and provide it to them or simply pass along the link to this website, PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. 

 Every voice we can add to the list of support increases the likelihood of this amendment passing!!!  Louisiana has an incredibly varied landscape with nearly limitless opportunities for off-roading and with your support, we can return the Sportsman’s Paradise to the top of the list of travel destinations for off-road events!!!
